I am a firm believer in a higher power. I have no doubt we cross each others paths for a reason and ideas are shared at crazy perfect times (coincidentally spooky perhaps, I think not).
Last night while enjoying some vino with a gal pal, I learn of the 40 Bags in 40 Days. Wham, bam, thank you ma’am – EXACTLY what I needed! I love challenges, I love community, I love having a game plan, and I love accomplishing something near and dear.
I began my morning reading Ann Marie’s blog and am energized to embark on my own 40 in 40 challenge. No time like the present to start something right?
So I have printed off the chart she provides and am stoked to finally CONQUER THE CLUTTER!
Last night’s initial reaction, was I don’t know if I could actually get to 40. I live in a 1000 sq ft apartment consisting of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a den, a kitchen, a large storage closet and a living room. (8 spaces to tend to) We drastically downsized and de-cluttered when we moved in 2.5 years ago, yet my home was no longer feeling like a place I felt thoroughly at peace. After reading Ann Marie’s post, I am feeling jazzed to achieve the 40!
I have my immediate living space, I have a storage unit, I have electronics, I have loads of areas that could use some attention. Our family has a goal to live abroad, so we are fairly simple when it comes to material needs, BUT I have a severe case of ‘Shifter Syndrome‘. I have loads of random little things shoved places, items we no longer need or use that I just find a space for. Things get cleaned and our living space is nice, however who needs a bed side table that is so jammed with stuff, that it hasn’t been opened for an entire year? Who needs drawers of single socks to sort thru each morning? Who has a closet that has no clue what is on the one side because the piled boxes haven’t been touched for who knows how long? (I am guessing the boxes are full of items I once ‘shifted’ out of sight, obviously very important items worth keeping, lol)
I feel extremely optimistic that this years ‘spring cleaning’ will be a true TSN Turning Point for me and I will enter the next season on a lighter, thriving, and winning note! I also took Ann Marie’s suggestions and found a weekly cleaning schedule I am excited to try and have created a daily habits checklist!
