We have 5 days. Must be adult & kid friendly. What to do? Where to go?

Who doesn’t love Disney?

Recently our family had the opportunity to get away. A get away which we would do again in a heart beat!

West Jet departed Vancouver 11am Friday morning direct to Anaheim. John Wayne is one fabulous airport. Seamless, simple and stress free. Well worth the few extra dollars per flight to have less confusion and a short transfer to Disney!

Arriving at Grand Californian Hotel is an exceptional experience. Besides the incredible decor consisting of dark wood, a lobby with an copious amount of comfortable seating and a high vaulted ceiling in the centre of the room, the staff make you feel like royalty. Whether it be the doorman who assists with your luggage and escorts you to the check-in area, to the person who keeps you company while you wait for the the next available clerk, you can tell each person takes pride in their position and have a desire to make each guest smile.

We knew we were in for a treat when we entered our room. The kids shotgunned their bed and immediately went to setting up their Minnie Mouse stuffy that had travelled with us from home. Uhm hello, we’re going to Minnie’s home town, she has to come mom! Sure enough Minnie fit right in and was the most low maintenance of us all. I am sure it was just as challenging for her to say goodbye to the plush pillows, seriously soft linens and ridiculously comfy beds, as it was for us all.

Even the curtains were cool. You could have the windows completely exposed to the sunlight, you could choose a sheer cover that allowed light in, or the heavy duty curtains that left you feeling secure and ready for a solid sleep.

It was now about 4pm and with the theme parks being open until 10 or 11pm, and Downtown Disney going strong until about 2am, we decided to get our Disney on and make our way around the resort!

The next few days consisted of California Scream’n, Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain, and more. The evenings were filled with the Water of Color show in California Adventure and the Disneyland Fireworks!
