Amazing Friends

What amazing friends we have…the girls and I been home fighting colds this week and the texts, messages, and calls from people who have taken the time to check in on us, are so incredibly thoughtful. It makes us feel so loved. Whether it be a ‘how you doing?’, ‘missing you’, ‘everything okay?’, ‘anything you need’, ‘when will you be back at school?’, what have you is so kind!

It is so rare that we get sick and I refuse to accept or admit I am ever sick. I believe 95% it is all in our heads – we want to be sick, we can be, we can’t be sick, we aren’t. Really we have yet to be down and out this week, but with low energy, hoarse coughs, and stuffy heads, we decided not to grace the public with our presence.

Our girls love being at school, so we trust the odd time they say they are not well enough to go. Chardonae is a riot, she can be quite the drama gal, as she adores movies/acting, the past few days she has prepared meals with her plastic food and with Brie’s help yesterday set the entire table up for breakfast. Real food, real juice, water, real bread, butter, placemats, cutlery, cheezewhiz, peanut butter, jam, you name it, the table was COVERED. So as I surface from bed about 9am, they have ‘breakfast’ all ready to go and it only took an hour or so to clean up! We have also enjoyed some good cuddles, a few movies, much needed Barbie time, some cleaning, some reading, a little art, computer games, and sleep.

Chilling out and gearing up for a productive and exciting week! Sitting still and doing nothing is truly a challenge for me, understanding it is necessary at times, I have prolonged my few hours of work into an entire day. 🙂 We are totally enjoying this down time, but looking forward to seeing everyones beautiful smiles very soon. One of my favorite quotes has without a doubt been personally experienced this week – thank you again!

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all which have the potential to turn a life around.” Leo Buscaglia
